The leaves are changing, the days are getting shorter, pumpkin spice is taking over, which only means one thing: fall is finally upon us!  Here at Los Angeles singles, we love the fall season because it’s truly the season of love.

The time has finally come to break out those light jackets, sip on delicious pumpkin spiced lattes, decorate for Halloween, and if you’re single, well, venture out on fun fall dates.  Don’t let fall pass you by without enjoying everything it has to offer with your new love interest.  If you are one of the many Los Angeles singles who is on the search for love, use these festive date ideas from our LA matchmakers and enjoy fall to the fullest.

1. Saddle up, cowboy!

Who doesn’t enjoy horseback riding and fresh air?  Horseback riding is a thrilling adventure you and your date can enjoy together.  This fun date idea will bring excitement into your dull dating life.  Spending the day horseback riding is a great way to escape the city and take in all the beautiful fall foliage with your date.

2. Visit a pumpkin patch.

When you think of fall, the first thing that comes to mind is pumpkins, right?  Absolutely, pumpkins are a fall staple.  Nothing compares to the feeling of putting on your boots and trekking out through a pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin.  Whether you’re planning to carve, paint, eat, or decorate with your pumpkins, challenge your date to see who can find the perfect pumpkin.  And if you check around in advance, you’ll be able to find a pumpkin patch with fun activities and events.

3. Visit haunted sites.

We get the chills just thinking about this one!  On a chilly fall afternoon, invite your date for a graveyard adventure—or better yet, take it up a notch and do it at night.  This will be one of the spookiest dates you’ve ever been on.  There is no comparison to the thrill of visiting a haunted place around Halloween.  If you are a thrill seeker, this date idea is the perfect date for you.

4. Go to a cranberry festival.

October marks the beginning all the fun fall festivals in LA, and what better way to kick of the festive season than heading to a cranberry festival?  Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and you already know what pairs best with that scrumptious turkey… cranberry of course!  There is nothing more delicious than tart local cranberries on your plate, so make sure you check out your local orchards this year.  Cranberries are perfect for drinks, pies, sauces, and jellies, so have fun and be creative.

5. Go for a romantic horse and carriage ride around the city.

Another great way to enjoy a crisp and cool fall day is to head out on a horse and carriage ride.  You’re bound to find a few places in Los Angeles that offer one or two-hour horse and carriage rides that will provide the perfect opportunity to cuddle up and enjoy the city sights with your date.

6. It’s time for some festive pumpkin carving.

You already visited the pumpkin patch and picked the perfect pumpkins, so now it’s time for the real excitement.  It doesn’t matter how old we are, carving pumpkins is something we’ll never outgrow.  Scooping out the goo, getting creative with the knife, and competing with your date to see who creates the spookiest pumpkin will make for a great date.  It’s time to have a jack-o-lantern competition and post the pictures on your Facebook or Instagram page.

7. Visit a haunted house.

Doing something scary like visiting a haunted house or going on a haunted hayride will release dopamine, which our LA matchmakers know is a neurochemical that will have you feeling good and bonding in no time.  The adrenaline from all those spooky encounters will take your date to another dimension.  If you’re a scaredy cat, then make sure you get ready for this date because things are going to get spooky fast.

8. Check out a Halloween parade.

What better way to enjoy everything your town has to offer than by going to its Halloween parade?  Many communities in Los Angeles are known for their festive and classic Halloween parades with theme music, dancing, costumes, gifts, prizes, candy, and good times.  This is the perfect opportunity to have a good time locally.

9. Go for a drive to check out the colorful foliage.

Fall is the season where green leaves turn and give us a beautiful display of vibrant oranges, reds, and yellows.  Mother Nature gives us something money can’t buy.  If you want to take in all Mother Nature provides you this autumn, take a drive with your date or go hiking on the mountainside.  Pack sandwiches and hot cocoa for an outdoor picnic and really take in the scenic views.

10. Go to an apple cider mill.

If you’re lucky enough to live near an apple cider mill, then you need to take advantage of it and invite your date to join you.  You can learn how cider is made, sip on delicious drinks, and taste delicious pies and spiced treats.  We’re sure you’ll agree that this is a fall-tastic date idea!

11. Check out a local football game.

Who said a Friday night football game can’t be romantic?  Football and fall go together like pumpkin and spice.  Football games are highly nostalgic and provide the perfect opportunity to sit side by side with your date cheering and having a good time.  Plus, the game itself will give you plenty to talk about, including your old high school days.  See, you just missed the touchdown!

Don’t let the leaves fall to the ground completely before you get out and enjoy the beautiful scenic views around Los Angeles.  It’s time to savor the fall and everything apple and pumpkin.
